Commissioned to commemorate the end of Army Fixed Wing Operations in Northern Ireland flying the BN2T Islander R Mk1 and BN2T Defender R Mk2 & T Mk3. BN2T aircraft conducted continuous operations in Northern Ireland from March 1989 until June 2021. 651 “Premier Squadron” started operating fixed wing aircraft in 1941. Eighty years later 651 would be the last Army Air Corps Squadron to utilise a fixed wing capability. Oil on canvas.
