The Silent War

Bristol Bloodhound MKII

The Bristol Bloodhound MkII was the RAF's primary surface to air missile during the Cold War, entering service in 1964 (the MkI having entered service in the late 1950s). It was a very advanced weapon for its time and upgrades to its electronics and associated ground radar saw it in active service until 1991. Oil on canvas.
