This painting was commissioned for the Combined Services Barbarians Rugby Union Team. The team comprises predominantly current and former members of HM Armed Services from across the United Kingdom and they play a select number of games each year to raise funds for charities that directly help serving and ex service personnel and their families.

None of the team members take any wages and all players pay for own their travelling costs.
