DH Mosquito HX909 attacks Amiens prison 18 Feb 1944

18th February 1944. DH Mosquito HX909 'C' crewed by Pilot Officer Marv Darrall and Pilot Officer Steve Stevenson of No. 487 Squadron RNZAF pulls up after dropping delayed-fuze bombs on the prison at Amiens, France.

Operation Ramrod 564 (later known as Operation Jericho) was designed to breach the walls of the prison, allowing prisoners to escape and to destroy the guard barracks at each end of the main building.
