A battle-scarred Hawker Hurricane of 17 Squadron RAF. The painting was more about the wear and tear aircraft endured during the Battle of Britain than the aircraft itself. This work won the prestigious ‘Aviation Painting of the Year’ award in 2010. Oil on Canvas.

The artist receives the 'Aviation Painting of the Year' award at the Mall Galleries in London from Air Chief Marshal Sir 'Jock' Stirrup, Chief of the Defence Staff.
The judging panel described the painting as "A simple subject painted with great skill, subtelty, atmosphere and composition. Lovely."
