Commissioned to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of No 51 Squadron RAF, the painting depicts a Nimrod R1 of 51 Squadron off the Kaliningrad Oblast being escorted by a Soviet Sukhoi Su-15 ‘Flagon’ interceptor. Oil on canvas.

The painting is presented to 51 Squadron (a gift of the squadron association) at their centenary dinner at RAF Waddington on 14th May 2016.
