Commissioned by the 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland (1 SCOTS), this painting depicts the early stage of a successful raid into Northern Helmand, Afghanistan to capture and secure a building used by insurgents. The painting had to be pieced together from anecdotal accounts and aerial views of the area as no photos of the operation exist. Oil on canvas.
