My first experience of flight as a child was a trip from Southend in Essex to Guernsey in the Channel Islands aboard a Channel Airways Viscount in the late 1960s. In this painting, I’ve depicted one of those very aircraft departing Southend on a clear Summer evening. Oil on canvas.
